श्री गिरिश भटनागर ने उच्च अधिकारियों की क्लास ली

A meeting of East Central Railway (ECR)'s principal officers and department heads on Thursday discussed the functioning of the zone in the new fiscal year. The divisional railway managers (DRMs) of ECR's five divisions also attended the meeting held at Hajipur. Speaking on the occasion, ECR GM Girish Bhatnagar threw light on the achievements of ECR and the target set for the year 2009-2010. He discussed freight business, commercial management business, earnings from luggage booking and commercial publicity. He also directed officials concerned to increase ticket sale capacity, including Gramin Ticket Booking Scheme (GTBS), and provide more amenities at E-class stations. The GM stressed the need of opening more unreserved ticketing system (UTS) and passenger reservation system (PRS) counters at important stations under ECR to fulfil the needs of passengers. He said the railways is committed to providing Jan Sadharan Ticket Booking Sewak at 98 stations falling under the ECR. Railways intends to install about 88 PRS -cum- UTS counters under ECR, the GM said adding the ECR has at present 149 PRS, 181 UTS and 19 UTS-cum-PRS under its five divisions. The GM directed officials concerned to ensure supply of water and cleanliness in each long-distance train originating from ECR. The target set for the current fiscal is challenging but it is not difficult to achieve, he said adding there should be a collective effort to improve the functioning of the ECR. Later, all principal officials of the department, including DRMs, made power presentations before the GM.
